Indigenius Cuisine Food Drive
Help Us Make a Difference for Families in Need
During the month of January our friends and family will be collecting canned goods and dry goods to donate to One80 Place shelter and food pantry. Our food drive will help hungry families in our community. We will be accepting donations from 1-1-16 through 1-31-16. Start your New Year off right, help those who are in need right here in our own back yard. We can make a difference! Our goal is to collect 50,000 pounds of food by the end of the month.
Did you know that in 2008, more than 4.5 million children benefited from food pantry services? Community food drives like ours help make sure those children and their families can get emergency food assistance when they need it.
One 80 Place is a crucial asset to solving the homeless crisis in Charleston. In 2014 they served more than 1,510 people, and provided 170,000 meals. 67 families left One80 place with homes of their own. 138 gained employment and they also provided health care to 526 guests. They are in dire need of donations and they need our help.
Please give what you can. One grocery bag of food can provide as many as 11 meals. Every single donation helps, and together we hope our combined donations will make a real difference for those in need. The food pantry is asking for nutritious canned and dry goods. Here are some suggestions:
Fruit canned in its own juices
100% fruit juices
Condiments like ketchup and salad dressing
Multigrain and low-sugar cereals
Start looking around your house for things you dont need or use. There are so many ways you can donate!
